The expansive kitchen is a flexible space where people can cook, eat work and socialise with sculptural curved surfaces and a sophisticated, timeless palette of warm neutrals, muted organic colours and soft woodgrains.
The key to Kennedy Nolan’s palette is the grouping of a range of colours and textures that are distinct, yet display a similar tonal intensity. There are two solid-colour Laminex decors, warm, yellow-based French Cream and green-based grey Paper Bark, alongside the light woodgrain of Laminex Whitewashed Oak. One section of the rear wall is clad in delicately variegated Japanese ceramic tiles from Artedomus, and on the floor there is the gentle blush of soft-pink terrazzo tiles from Fibonacci Stone. Unlike a palette of vivid colour and contrast, which creates a sense of dynamism and energy, the subtle shifts here are comforting and welcoming. Thanks to the classic cream, and tones and textures reminiscent of the natural world, it feels both contemporary and timeless.
