Our Client’s brief for this project was to achieve accommodation requirements for a family and provide a direct relationship between living zones and the garden. These requirements were not challenging on a generous suburban site, however where the project excels is that it also facilitates separation of zones and a new urban design for the site which provides multiple courtyards or garden spaces with different functions and qualities. The diversity of places to be facilitates positive outcomes in their family.
Projects of this complexity and detail require the skills, dedication and enthusiasm of many partners. At the Maitland house, an important contributor was the Client – both have a background in the construction industry and were highly committed to realising the project in detail. Kennedy Nolan also provided Interior Design – which is integral to our practice of Architecture and the garden was loosely directed from a concept by Kennedy Nolan.
